OUR PRINCIPLES

How we work

Our research is guided by a commitment to rigor, transparency, and independence. These principles shape every study we undertake.

Independent

Our research conclusions are shaped by the data through rigorous analysis and understanding of the issues surrounding the area of study.

Evidence-based

Findings follow from data and analysis. We do not design research to confirm a predetermined conclusion, and we report results that challenge assumptions as readily as those that support them.

Transparent

We disclose methodology, questionnaire design, fieldwork details, and study limitations. Readers alike should be able to evaluate how findings were produced.

Non-partisan

We have no political affiliation and no preferred policy outcome. Our interest is in what people actually think, not in what any organization would prefer they think.

RESEARCH AREAS

Our work spans three interconnected areas of public and organizational life.

What we study

Public opinion

Understanding perspectives on issues affecting communities, public services, infrastructure, and society.

Economic & social trends

Research exploring confidence, expectations, and changing economic and demographic conditions.

Organizational research

Examining workplace experiences, employee engagement, organizational trust, and institutional effectiveness.
